Do Influencers Influence YOU?!

Have you ever wondered if a social media influencer could influence you so much, that it could change the way you view your life? 

 I decided it would be interesting to find out if SOCIAL MEDIA INFLUENCERS influence ‘’you’’! I wanted to find what people's thoughts were on this topic. Most people would have at least once been influenced by someone on social media either in a positive or negative way maybe even both.

How many people do you think are influenced by social media influences? Well, 60% said they had not been influenced by social media influencers, and 40% said that they had.

I felt I needed to understand why so I asked a second question. How has an influencer influenced you?

The majority of people said that Fashion was a big influence. "I feel that it would be easy to be influenced in fashion. For example, I will be scrolling on Instagram and see an item of clothing that I think looks really cute and then I really want to buy it. By me just seeing an image of an influencer wearing a garment I wanted to buy the item which means that the influencer is doing their job well and brands are benefiting, selling products to more consumers. If I didn’t see the image I probability wouldn't have bought that garment."

Others said that they looked up to influencers when they spread positive messages on social media. Influencers have a big say in some people's lives, the influencers are like role models to the viewer. But how about you, have you ever been influenced by a social media influencer? 

Do we need social media influencers in our life/world? In my opinion, I think we benefit by having them as they help brands to be successful and have a positive influence on people, however, I don’t think we benefit from negative influencers. Most people said we didn’t need influencers "they just start drama’’. The ones who said we need them liked those that mainly spread positivity and awareness around issues and what is happening in our world today, to help make a difference.

In conclusion, I have learned a lot and I think that everyone has a different idea on social media influencers. At the end of the day they are living people and can choose to be positive on social media or negative. They do have an impact on brands and their sales. They do spread awareness and talk about the issues in this world and that makes you think and that you can play your part. Then, on the other hand, they can be negative but I reckon try and steer away from influencers like that.
