What does Facebook know about you?

Have you ever wondered what someone could find out about you by simply just looking at your online Facebook profile? No, I'm not going to repeat everything your mother has hopefully told you about having an online profile. It really is something we all need to think about though.

Slowly Facebook gathers information, facts, data, personal interests and things we like without us really knowing. Yes, they do ask us the random question once in awhile but not everything is as black and white like that. When you share a post on Facebook or like a status this all means something doesn’t it. It all comes up on your profile. If someone wanted to find out a lot of information about you, wouldn’t this be a perfect place to look?

Being teenage girls you would think we might not notice how we give away a lot of private information on Facebook. Stuff like, the school we’re at, suburbs we live in, cell-phone number, email. Maybe this isn't a big deal, well maybe not until a stranger knows all you information.

We ran an investigation to see if this was true. We first chose ten questions that we were going to try find the answers of on someone's Facebook. We then chose four random people out of our class (not naming anyone). We spent a lot of time scrolling through their photos, reading status, looking at their information section. After a good hour of stalking we decided to stop as we were really getting nowhere.

We’re really happy because we couldn't find anything too creepy on their profiles. Maybe the cell phone and school was a bit unnecessary but everything else was pretty good. This shows teenage girls aren't as blonde as some may seem and we’re pretty good with the way we use social media.
